view our props

Website

You can browse our website and the ‘props for hire‘ by hovering over and clicking the “prop with us” on the top navigation bar of our homepage.

This will enable you to browse by room, by product or by collection.

You can use the website to filter our stock by the type of product. For example, “furniture” can be filtered by colour and or by it’s style. for example ‘Vintage”.

You can search the website using keywords or by using a description. You could also type in a product code in the “search” bar. The search bar can be found at the top right of the header/navigation bar. The search bar is illustrated by a magnifying glass.

We try to do our best to convey the accuracy of our products on the images we provide. However, due to the nature of a prop hire business, please be aware that on occasion, the colour and the condition of our props may vary.

If the colour and condition are important to you and you need an up to date photograph of any of our props, or any other information before you hire, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

We are uploading products and updating our website on a daily basis so please keep checking in with us!

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, call us on 0161 2736444.

02

visiting us

Alternatively, if you would like to visit us at our warehouse, you are also welcome.

We ask that you contact us prior to your visit to book an appointment. This can be done by email info@propagandauk.co.uk or by phone 0161 2736444.

If you haven’t worked with us before, a visit to our warehouse can be really beneficial for you.

Our warehouse is packed to the rafters with props and lots of “cleared for use” artwork.

This can also be helpful so you can see the size of the props and the colour.

Although we have a vast selection of products on our website, not everything we have in the warehouse is currently shown on there so if you are able to, a visit can be worthwhile.

Most of our props have been arranged by type, colour and style, making it as easy as possible for you to prop with us. We are available to assist you should you need any help.

All the necessary Covid-19 adjustments are in place to ensure a safe working environment for our staff, our customers and visitors.

03

making an enquiry

If you find an item you are interested in on our website, you can add it to your enquiry.  You can do this by hovering over the image and clicking on the button at the bottom of the image “add to enquiry”

If you need more information on the item (before adding it to your enquiry), click on the image. This will enlarge the image. In most cases it will give you further information. For example, you will see the item code, a full description and its approximate dimensions.

NB: Please check the quantity you require.

Although the sizes are just a guide, we do try to be as accurate as possible. It is important that you take note of sizes, so as not to make mistakes.

04

how to check your enquiry

When you have added all the items you are interested in, please proceed to the “view list”. This can be found near the top, right hand side of the page.

If you click on the “view
list” button it will open a new page showing all of the items on your enquiry form for you to review.

We do not have a minimum order charge, so you can hire as much or as little as you need.

You can add or delete items from your enquiry form.

Please “update” the form if you make any changes.

When you are happy with your selection, click the “proceed
to submit your enquiry” button.

05

submitting your enquiry form

When you have placed your enquiry, please complete the contact form.

You will receive an email from us to confirm we have received your enquiry.

We will let you know what is in stock and how much it will be to hire the selected items.

It is important that you include the dates of when the props will be required. Submit your enquiry.

We try our best to respond to online enquiries within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

We try to prioritise enquiries based on your collection date.

One of our team will contact you by email or by phone, to discuss your order and any questions you or we may have.

At this stage we will also confirm hire costs (ex VAT) and the availability of the props.

When you have decided which items you would like to hire, we send you a final list and ask you to confirm your order.

Please note : props are hired on a first come first served basis from confirmation of the order.

06

first time working with us

Our prop hire services operate on a business-to-business basis.

If you haven’t worked with us before and would like to, we will send to you (by email)
our procedure including our terms and conditions.

If you would like to work with us, we will set you up on our system.

In order for us to do this, you will need to include all of your company details.

A copy of the terms and conditions will be sent to you and it will need to be completed
in full and signed by a person within the company who has the authority to do so. Ideally, this will be a company director.

When the documents are completed, please return the entire signed document back to us via email.

07

confirming your order

When you are ready to confirm your order we will send you an invoice and agree a date for collection.

If you have any queries, please contact us before we process your order. This is to avoid any unnecessary charges.

When the order is confirmed we will send you a VAT invoice.

Cancellations are chargeable.

On occasion, we may recommend that you come to view the props at
our warehouse. This is so you can make sure that the props are suitable for your specific needs.

08

how to pay for your prop hire

When you have confirmed everything on your order, we will raise a final VAT invoice and
email this to you for payment.

Before you collect your props we will ask for payment for the hire in full.

Props can be paid for via bank transfer or by debit/credit card over the telephone.

We do not accept cash, cheques or AMEX.

We do not offer credit on account.

For first time hirers, we check your company’s credit rating and may ask for deposits.

09

changing or cancelling orders

If you need to change or cancel your order for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible.

When the order has been picked and packed, changes or cancellations of the order will incur a restocking fee of
50% (net) of the total hire cost of the items cancelled from your order.

The cancellation charge covers labour, cleaning and packing of items and any potential loss of business from another hirer.

10

collecting your order

Confirmed orders are picked and packed ready for collection from our loading bay.

You will need to contact us to arrange a suitable collection time.

The time slots are booked on a first come first served basis from

9.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday in half hour increments.

We do try our best to work with you to get the most convenient time slot for you to pick up.

If you do not have your own transport, we can recommend trusted courier services for whom you can organize collection and delivery with.

When the driver arrives they will need to quote your company name.

Everything will be wrapped and packed ready for your project.

We require all blankets, boxes and packaging supplied with your order, to be returned back to us (the use of the packaging is
free, but charges are applicable for any unreturned or damaged packaging).

Please check you have received all of the items on your order. If anything is missing or damaged we ask that you notify us immediately.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

11

hire period

Our standard hire period is 1-7 days.

You can hire our props just for one day if you require.

However, our minimum hire charge is for one week, so you will be invoiced accordingly.

If you hire the goods, they need to be returned on the same day the following week, for example Monday to Monday.

Conversely, we also offer extended hire times too, if required.

Ideally this would be agreed at the start of the hire period.

However, if the scope of your project changes and you would therefore
like to keep your items longer than the specified time on your invoice, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will need to check that the props are still available for the extended hire period. If the props are still available and it is possible to extend the hire, we will confirm this with you and provide a quotation via email (ex VAT).

If you return goods later than the agreed hire period, you will automatically go into an extended hire period and be charged accordingly.

If you would like to go ahead, please notify us and we will send you a new VAT invoice for the extended hire period.

Payment will be required prior to the start of the extended hire.

12

prop returns

The time slot system is also applicable when you are returning your props. Please make sure you contact us to book your ‘returns’ in on time.

We also ask for you to clean and disinfect the props prior to returning them to us. This new system is to ensure everyone stays safe from viruses.

We will always try our best to accommodate you, so please contact us if you have any specific requirements or queries.

Can we also ask if you can please make everyone (who deals with the hire and collection of props, including your crew, couriers and all freelancers) aware of our procedure.

Please note: This procedure may change due to government notices and COVID 19 requirements.

Please contact us if you need further clarification.

13

taking care of our props whilst they are on hire

It is the hirers/your responsibility to look after and insure all of the goods that you hire from us; from the time they leave our premises to the time they are returned.

This includes whilst the goods are in transit.

We clean our props before they go out on hire. We ask that you take as much care of the props as possible while you have them.

Alterations or adjustments to our props of any kind are not permitted without written consent. This includes painting an item to a different colour.

If you wish to make changes to any of our props, please contact us by email. Please send details of the product code and what you would like to do.

We will confirm if this is ok with us or not. If any changes are made without our written consent, you will be charged for the cost to repair the item to its original condition.

If we have given you written permission to change the item and the item has been devalued by poor workmanship, you will be charged the cost to restore it to its original state, or to replace it, whichever is the most cost effective.

14

loss, damage and insurance

You need to make sure you have adequate insurance or arrange insurance for all items whilst they are out on hire. All items are the responsibility of the hire from time of collection until their return.

All damages are chargeable to the hirer if an item is lost or damaged beyond repair.

If you require a replacement cost (for insurance purposes), please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with details.

Please call us immediately if anything is lost or damaged whilst the props are out on your hire so we can check if this affects any up and coming hires on that item/s and to contact any relevant third parties.

Please also email us photographs of the damage to info@propagandauk.co.uk

This will help us make any arrangements for urgent repairs or replacements.

When your props are returned, we will assess all items and evaluate any new damage.

You would receive an email from us with any repair or replacement costs where necessary, including any courier/postage and packing charges, followed by an invoice.

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further information.

15

taking care of artwork

We ask that clients do not remove any glass or pictures from their frames or alter any fixings. This is to avoid potential damage to the artwork and to avoid any reframing or replacement charges.

16

taking care of beds and furniture

All our framed beds are sent dismantled for easy assembly on set.

All parts are listed in the item description. Please make sure all parts are returned to us, as loss of any item/fixing is chargeable.

We have a selection of various styles and sizes of headboards to hire.

Please be aware, our headboards are not freestanding and will need
to be supported from behind or against a wall.

Please do not fix a bed by drilling holes into it. Any repair for fixing damage caused by this will be chargeable.

We also have a double mattress available to hire, which is hired and charged separately. Please let us know if you would like
to hire a mattress.

17

lighting

Most of our lamp bases and shades are priced and hired separately.

We have lamp and shade combinations photographed on our website. However, most, but not all of our lamps and shade collection are interchangeable.

Please contact us to discuss any requirements or if you need anything
specific.

Lamp adapters: We can provide you with fittings/adaptors for the lamps and shades (e.g shade carriers). If this is something you require please let us know.

We will be provided these free of charge, however, if they are not returned with your order, there will be a replacement charge for any missing items.

Light bulbs: are not sent with lamps unless specialist bulbs are required – this will be listed in the item description.

If you need to know which light bulbs are required for your hire, please contact us when you place your order and we will do our best to assist you.

Not all of our lamps are practical. If a practical lamp is important for your project, please let us know and we can advise you accordingly.

We PAT test standard lamps, table lamps and desk lamps every 12 months; we also check they are practical and ready to use before they go out on hire. If a lamp is not practical, we will inform you.

Ceiling and pendant lamps are sent without plugs and are not PAT tested.

If required, our ceiling and pendant lights will need to be checked and wired on set by an electrician, contracted by the hirer.

Propaganda (UK) Ltd does not take any responsibility for this.

18

fragile and non-practical items

Some of our props are more delicate. This is especially true for vintage items, which may not be for practical use and are for use as a “prop” only. This may include items such as chairs, ladders and lamps.

This is normally highlighted in the item description. If you need to discuss the use of a prop, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

19

we now offer a large selection of “cleared artwork”

Propaganda (UK) Ltd hold the copyright licences for artwork where ‘cleared for use artwork’ is included in the item description on your quote.

If this is something you are interested in, please contact us to discuss. We can guide you to the pieces we have available that are cleared.

You can also search by using ‘cleared artwork” to filter artwork by this type.

For these items, we are able to sign an artwork “Copyright License” form, which includes the relevant artwork codes and how they can be used. The company who is named on this form will also have to sign this document.

The “Copyright Licence” is given per project/production and cannot be transferred over to another project/production or company, without our, Propaganda (UK) Ltd, written consent.

Please note: Not everything in our artwork section is “cleared for use”. It is the hirers responsibility to research this and to gain permission to use for their project. We will of course provide any information we can to assist you.

20

commission us

We have a team of “in-house” artists and designers. If you require something “bespoke” for your project, you are welcome to commission us. We would love the opportunity to work with you.
